Black hole
A region of spacetime where gravity is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape from inside the event horizon.

Stellar-mass black holes form from collapsing stars; supermassive ones sit in galaxy centers. We infer them from orbits, accretion light, gravitational waves, and — for the largest nearby ones — horizon-scale images.
