Event horizon
The boundary around a black hole beyond which light cannot escape to the outside universe.
Event horizon
The event horizon is not a solid surface. Crossing it is a one-way trip in classical general relativity. Horizon-scale images show a larger "shadow" shaped by light bending near the hole.
